A world without borders to cross: click/ tap to read
After the last great war, the rulers and scholars of the Known World created a new political order: the borders were fixed, but people were free to choose where they belonged. Instead of forcing different peoples to live by the same customs, their cultural differences were encouraged.
Every society chooses its own way: click/ tap to read
Every kingdom, region, and community developed its own values and way of life. Some value knowledge, some tradition, some wealth, some magic, and some things that would seem rather strange elsewhere. Even the pursuit of wealth and influence survives in certain small societies—mostly as a game played by their inhabitants and rarely taken seriously by anyone else.
Alchemy holds it together: click/ tap to read
It allows very different societies to coexist, trading what they have and solving problems that their own resources cannot. Even some of the stranger customs of the Known World have their practical origins in alchemy.
The Known World is not perfect: click/ tap to read
It is simply a world where people are free to choose what kind of imperfect place they want to call home. If the Known World isn’t for you, you can always join the Rebels. (They are, of course, part of the Known World too.)
